Kelly Elected President of NYC Metro ASA Chapter, Outlines Vision for 2025-2026

We are thrilled to announce that the co-founder Kelly has been elected as the incoming President of the NYC Metro Area Chapter of the American Statistical Association (ASA)!

Below is a note from Kelly as she steps into this esteemed leadership role:

Thrilled and honored to be elected as the incoming President of our Chapter! Many thanks for your votes of confidence!

Congratulations to Prof. Benjamin Leinwand as our incoming local chapter’s Vice President!

We are looking forward to actively engaging our local members in our beloved “city that never sleeps” during 2025 and 2026.

As the Co-Founder of AI4Purpse, the ASA’s Text Analysis Interest Group, now Section on Text Analysis, as well as the Executive Committee Member representing Healthcare, Caucus of Industry Representatives, it was truly wonderful to see our local chapter hosting a well-attended Text Analysis workshop not too long ago.

Looking ahead, we will have knowledge-sharing and cutting-edge statistics and data science refresher courses, as we have been having throughout the years, as well as an inaugural Artificial Intelligence Workshop.

Let’s shape up our future through ethical, sound and impactful methods and applications! We aim to strengthen our collaborative efforts with various ASA committees, sections, caucuses, and other local chapters.

Special thanks to all of our current and future Executive Committee Members, particularly and our members who voted with enthusiasm to invigorate our professional society and community!

Looking forward to a bright Data-driven new year with our active members! We welcome your engagement locally or virtually!

Happy Holiday Season!
